Below are some examples of the recent Diabetes Diplomat projects completed by children and students just like yourself. No project is too big or too small! Every little bit of money raised adds up and helps us get closer to finding a cure!
Gabrielle of Palm Beach Gardens (FL) completed a letter writing campaign to members of her temple. She requested they make donations to the DRI as part of her mitzvah project. Project was completed and raised $1,836.00.
Justin of Weston (FL) completed his fundraising project by hosting a softball tournament to raise money for the DRI. Numerous teams competed in this softball tournament to raise money for Justin’s bar mitzvah project. Total amount raised was $2,050.00.
Ben of Miami Beach (FL), held a bake sale at his school to raise money for diabetes research. He sold cookies, cupcakes and brownies for a $1.00 a piece. Ben was able to raise $256.00.
Anita of Sullivan
High School in Louisville (KY), as project leader, chose to raise money for the
DRI as their senior class project. By hosting car washes and soliciting donations, the senior class was able to raise $1,434.00.
Emilio of Coral Gables (FL) did something kids would never dream of….he gave up his birthday presents! Instead of asking for presents, he told all his friends to donate to the DRI. Total amount raised was $1,115.00
For his mitzvah project, Jake of Weston (FL) decided to raise money by participating in the DRI Week walk-a-thon at CB Smith Park. Jake collected donations for each mile walked from his friends and family. Total amount raised was $3,012.00.
Students at Conchita Espinosa Academy in Miami held a dress down day at their school for their fundraiser. Students made a donation not to wear their uniform on a specific day. Total amount raised was $1,687.00.
